PALS Prep Class
The PALS Prep Course is designed to provide the fundamentals necessary for the core PALS certification course. In this Prep Course, students will receive detailed instruction on initial and primary assessment. Students will also learn how to use American Heart Association (AHA) algorithms for the pediatric victim. The pharmacology section of the course includes a discussion of priorities for drug administration, and provides an in-depth analysis of mechanisms, indications, contraindications, special considerations, warnings and side effects of the most common PALS medications. Students will participate in pediatric case studies to review respiratory destress and failure, recognizing shock and how to gain Vascular access to management it, students will learn the different rhythm disturbances and electrical therapy.
